Lease Extensions

What is a lease extension?

As the name suggests, a lease extension is the process in which a leasehold agreement is extended.
A leasehold extension usually extends the current lease term by an additional 90 years.
When the terms of your lease decrease, so does the value of your property.
Our team of experienced conveyancers will work with you to ensure that you get the results you require.

How long will this take?

It may take between 10–16 weeks if you are purchasing a leasehold property that needs a lease extension and you are contacting the landlord or another third party.
For this reason, we would recommend that you contact a solicitor at your earliest opportunity so that we can get this process started as soon as possible for you.

Deed of Variation

A deed of variation is a legal document that gives a landlord and tenant the authority to alter the conditions of an existing lease.

The process can take an average of 8–13 weeks because both parties must agree before the lease can be changed. If both parties agree beforehand, the process can be completed in a couple of months.
