Remortgage

What is a remortgage?

A remortgage is the process of changing your mortgage from your existing lender to a new one while keeping your home, which will serve as security.

No matter your reason for wanting to remortgage, we will provide you with expert advice to make this a smooth process for you. Most people remortgage when they get to the end of their fixed or discount rate term as this is when your mortgage might stop being beneficial to you.

How long will the remortgage process take?

After applying, remortgaging your house usually takes 4 to 8 weeks. The length of time required will vary depending on your individual situation and mortgage needs.
When necessary, providing documents that are clear, accurate, and pertinent – like proof of earnings – can speed up and increase efficiency.

How much does the remortgage conveyancing cost?

We charge the following fees in relation to a re-mortgage:

  • Where the property value is £300,000.00 or below – £850.00 plus £170.00 VAT = £1020.00
  • The scale fee for a sale or purchase of a property of comparable value applies when the property value exceeds £300,000.
  • For likely disbursements on re-mortgage matters, please consult the costs listed above for sale and purchase matters. The same expenses are likely to apply.
